RE SeriesThe reliable and rugged MaxxForce DT engine affords more power with a higher passenger capacity. If you need to transport up to 84 students, the RE's 285 hp and 860 lb/ft of pull has you covered. The engine being located in the rear makes for easy mechanical access and also reduces noise for the driver while allowing a better view of students around the front of the bus. But the engine is by no means the only significant feature of the RE Series; safety and efficiency were also key design goals. A fully integrated body, chassis and engine gives the bus maximum strength and durability. The driver seat has been moved forward, upward and outward to ensure the optimum position for all-round visibility. IC has also introduced visual and audible alarms for key engine functions, as well as cruise control and tilt and telescoping steering column. For student comfort and convenience, the RE Series offers 78" of headroom and the widest entry doors in the industry. Furthermore, there's IC Air available, patented Dynalistic engine mounts, soft ride suspension and great sound absorbency.
