DATTCO & CUREchief -- May 31, 2005

Cheshire, Conn. May 31, 2005 – The CUREchief Foundation is out for a grand slam as the cancer support organization hosts its 2nd Annual CUREchief Night at the New Britain Rock Cats baseball game Saturday, June 11 at 6:35 p.m. (doors open at 5pm)

The foundation is teaming with DATTCO Inc. (a transportation company based out of New Britain) and the New Britain Rockcats for this event and preceding distribution campaign. DATTCO will supply the transportation to carry CUREchiefs and volunteers to area hospitals throughout the month of June.

The event aims to increase public awareness of the CUREchief Foundation and its important mission of providing complimentary CUREchiefs (soft bandanas) to cancer patients, as a symbol of hope. To date over 60,000 CUREchiefs have been given out around the state and the country.

Highlights of the evening will include the official kickoff of CUREchief Month in Connecticut to celebrate Governor Jodi Rell’s recent declaration of June 2005 as ‘CUREchief Month.’

Capitalizing on the momentum from the Rock Cats game activities, the DATTCO CUREchief Bus will spend the rest of June traveling throughout Connecticut delivering thousands of CUREchiefs to hundreds of individuals courageously battling cancer.

Volunteers are counting on Rock Cats fans and Foundation supporters to fill a specially marked DATTCO bus with fleece the night of the game. All attendees June 11 are asked to Fill the Bus and bring a yard or more of new Polar fleece that will be used to make CUREchiefs (soft bandanas).

Anyone arriving at the game with at least one yard or more of new Polar Fleece fabric to donate will qualify to take part in a drawing for prizes including: a pair of New York Yankees Tickets, a one night stay (including dinner) at Mohegan Sun Resort, a one night stay (including dinner) at Foxwoods Resort, Gift Cards from Bob’s Stores, Modell’s and more….

The CUREchief Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing “warm and fuzzy feelings” to cancer patients, survivors, their families and friends.

“Caring people brought together through fabric, is our trademark slogan, and this night will be truly be an example of that concept,” said Sandy Centorino, Executive Director.
“We never know how and when we may touch another life.”

Tickets for the game are $7.50 per person and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the organization, however tickets MUST be purchased through the CUREchief Foundation’s website at www.curechief.com .
