School Bus Division
The DATTCO School Bus Division provides school transportation and charter services to municipalities, school systems, and other public and private organizations. Serving the largest cities and the smallest towns, DATTCO is one of Connecticut’s leading school bus operators. DATTCO has an excellent safety record built on a quality driver training program and school-based safety training for students.
DATTCO INC., a family owned transportation business was founded in 1924. They began providing school bus transportation in 1949 and currently service the following towns and districts: Plainville (since 1957), New Britain (since 1972), Cromwell (since 1986), Middletown (since 1987), Regional District 13 – Middlefield/Durham (since 1987), North Branford (since 1993), Avon (since 1994), Westport (since 1994), Cheshire (since 1995), New Hartford/Region 7 (since 2005), Smithfield (Since 2005), New Canaan (since 2007), Hartford (since 2008), Easton, Redding, Regional District 9 (since 2011), Capitol Region Education Council (since 2011) and Trumbull, CT (since 2013).
DATTCO currently employs over 1400 people and owns over 1,000 school buses that transport 96,000 students daily during the school year. Our managers and drivers are highly trained in driving skills, student discipline techniques, and the requirements of special needs students. Our Safety Department is responsible for ongoing safety programs and the development of programs that ensure DATTCO remains the industry leader in safety innovation.
