DATTCO TAKES EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION ON THE ROAD

Company Executives to Cook Outdoor Breakfast for 1,300 Employees at 11 Different Locations
New Britain, CT- Beginning April 27 and throughout early June, a trailer will pull into the parking lot in the early morning at DATTCO terminals throughout Connecticut. Out of the back will come not office supplies or vehicle parts, but grills, coolers and cookware – accompanied by top executives from the company who will transform the parking lot into a breakfast serving station. It is the annual employee appreciation breakfast, put on by DATTCO every spring since the mid 90’s.

DATTCO bus drivers returning from their morning routes are greeted with a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, home fries, coffee and juice. In the event of rain, the breakfast takes place inside the terminal.
Despite the tough economy, DATTCO executives were determined not to pull the plug on this annual tradition. “Our employees give their best every day, and they are truly our company’s most important asset,” said Phil Johnson, Vice President of the School Bus Division and chief egg-flipper. “This is just a small gesture we make to let them know how much we appreciate their dedication and professionalism.” Johnson was in the restaurant industry prior to joining DATTCO, and his special recipe for home fries is one of the highlights of the breakfast. Other DATTCO executives help out by doing prep and serving coffee.
